Our Story
Meet the hands behind Madeira Inspired
Who We Are
Madeira Inspired was born from a love of craftsmanship and the raw beauty of Madeira Island. Based in Funchal, we create ceramic art and oil paintings that capture the essence of the Atlantic β its waves, its whales, its light.
Olena Riabchenko is the artist behind every piece. A painter and ceramicist working in oil on canvas, gold leaf, and clay, Olena brings years of artistic practice to each creation. Her work blends traditional Portuguese ceramic influences with a contemporary, oceanic aesthetic.
Danylo Riabchenko manages the business side β helping bring Olena's art to the world, handling commissions, and making sure every piece finds the right home.
Our Approach
Every piece is made by hand in our small studio. We use natural materials β Portuguese clays, food-safe glazes, sustainably sourced wood for our stands. There are no molds, no mass production. Each ceramic piece is thrown or shaped by hand, painted individually, and fired with care.
Our paintings are original works, signed by Olena, using professional-grade oil paints and canvas. Some pieces feature gold or silver leaf for an extra touch of magic.
Where to Find Us
